Meet the Midland Ministries Full-Time Staff.
God has truly blessed us with a wonderful Staff of men and women, all willing and able to serve our Lord full-time as a career. What this means for Midland Ministries is that all our Staff raise their own personal support (their salary, as well as ministry expenses).
Below each Staff picture and bio, you will find a support link. If God is calling you to support one of our Staff or one of our many General Ministry Funds financially, please click the link to donate. Remember, your gift goes to reaching America’s teens and their families.

Director of Child Rescue
Shane Sanderson founded and directed Southside Youth Outreach in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1993. The ministry of SYO was to reach kids with the Good News of Jesus Christ. SYO fulfilled that vision and continued. The vision of Child Rescue continues to carry on that same heart for ministry with the additional mission of caring for the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of children in a more stable, long-term environment. Shane grew up in Oak Grove, Missouri where his Dad served as Pastor of the Oak Grove Bible Church. Shane later got involved with Kansas City Youth For Christ where he learned much of the ministry approaches that would shape his life and ministry for good. After founding and directing Southside Youth Outreach, in 2010 Shane felt the call to go to a Third World country to reach kids not only with the Good News of Jesus Christ but also to provide a home and refuge for the fatherless. Shane founded Child Rescue of Central America as an offshoot ministry of Midland Ministries in St. Joseph. God led him to the city of Santa Cruz del Quiché in Guatemala where he found a home that became the ministry of Casa de Mi Padre.
Alex came to serve at Casa de mi Padre as the Children's Counselor in July 2018. She was in a debilitating car accident the year before when an F250 crossed four lanes and crashed into her vehicle head on. Through months of physical healing, the Lord was also healing areas of her heart. He began to lead her towards missions outside of the U.S., something she'd never considered before... and eventually to Casa de mi Padre. She graduated from Missouri State University in December 2017, and 2 months later committed to serving in the ministry.
Alex grew up in a small country town outside of Kansas City, MO. She's always had a passion to help people, which led her initially into the counseling profession. For eight years she served at Camp Barnabas, a camp for kids and adults with special needs celebrating all lives of varying abilities. She still has a special place in her heart for the disabled community, but has truly found her niche with our kids!
Her job at Casa de mi Padre has two main functions. First, she is there to facilitate restoration and healing to the broken little hearts that reside in the home. Most of the children have backgrounds of horrific abuse, abandonment, and trauma. She fills a vital role in the home as the mission team sheds light in the darkest parts of the children's lives. Second, she advocates for the children in court hearings. She prepares the paperwork for the judge, attends each hearing, and fights to make sure the kids don't end up back into the hands of their abusers.
You can see how the kids captivated her heart, and share in her experiences in her blog at the link below:
Casa de Mi Padre Staff
Cole McCauley is from St. Joseph, Missouri. Christ revealed himself to Cole while he was in college. He was saved from a life of addiction to drugs, drinking, sex, and whatever else gave him a feeling. After being born again, Cole was taught what it means to follow Christ through Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) at NWMSU. There Cole came to know the truth and love of Christ personally. After time and time again of obedience to God's Word and seeing the promises of the Bible come true, Cole knew He was being called to proclaim this truth to ALL people. While finishing college God grew a passion in Cole for evangelism and discipleship. Cole pursued Collegiate Ministry for a year then God lead him in a different direction. While working with people who have disabilities God taught Cole what it meant to unconditionally love and care for people who can't do so for themselves. Here God also taught Cole how to lead a household and a team of people to care and provide for the needs of others. Cole took His first mission trip to Casa de mi Padre in the summer of 2014. There Cole fell in love with every aspect of the ministry. He saw an opportunity for much ministry in Quiche and had experienced the beginnings of many great relationships with the kids. God had given him a clear calling, so he faithfully followed. Then in the spring of 2015 Cole took a 3-month discernment trip to Casa de mi Padre where God confirmed his calling. He has been with Midland Ministries and Child Rescue for one year now. Cole is starting a transitional home for the boys who turn 18 and need guidance as they grow and move to live on their own. Cole cares for the kids, helps with whatever Shane needs, and helps lead the home when Shane is gone. Cole has a deep desire to raise faithful and educated disciples of Christ. Cole desires that one day not only the City of Quiche but the Country of Guatemala will be reached by the disciples God is raising at Casa de mi Padre.
